My world fits within an
eggshell. The bulk of me
is a mess of threads
weaving in and out through
the cracks of my skull, and
it all squares away nicely.

Calcium carbonate
keeps the outside world
on the outside,
keeps me coherent.

sunlight, with the heat
turned up, I sometimes
think that nothing could
harm me,

but the back of a spoon
is all it takes.
